Brine shrimp note

Brine shrimp culture
Salinity: the best is 30 ppt = 3g salt in 100ml water
They can survive at lower salinity (0.1~0.3 %)

Temp: 25 oC

Goldfish hatched!



Here are daily notes:
11/23/2010: Spawning, 1st batch (11/22 full moon)
11/24: Removing bad eggs (daily from this day)
11/25: Eyes were observed (water temp 20 oC)
11/26: (19 oC)
11/27: Hatching started (18 oC)
11/28: Hatching peak (19 oC)
11/29: All hatched, about 100 hatchlings (18 oC)
11/30: Start feeding (smashed goldfish pellet), but not eating (18 oC)
12/1: Not eating (18 oC)
12/2: Not eating, mortalities (n=1 or 2) observed daily from this day (18 oC)
12/3: Brine shrimps were fed, but not eating (17 oC)
12/4: Transfer larvae into a small dish and warm up water by light (22 oC). Fish started to swim actively and eating smashed fish pellets. 63 fish left as of this day
12/5: a couple of mortalities continuously observed
12/6: (23 oC), spawning eggs, 2nd batch (12/5 new moon)
12/7: Move all the fish back to main tank. Adjust water temp at 23 oC by heater
